Storm Christopher

About this story

Storm Christopher starts with Jenny and Russell expecting a peaceful weekend while their children are away on a school trip. Then the telephone service fails, the electricity goes off and bad weather closes in.

The publisher suggests another difficulty beyond the storm, making the promised quiet at Frogmorton Farm a distinctly uncertain prospect.

In the site's view, the appeal is the narrowing of an ordinary domestic plan into something more ominous. A house without light or communication has a different atmosphere from the family's Christmas gatherings.

Readers who prefer the farm's unsettling side can choose this short for that setup, while the nature of the additional trouble is left to the story.

It is a later Frogmorton Farm extra, following Joy to the World in the reading route. A separate ebook and downloadable audiobook are available. Lucy Price-Lewis's recording runs for 2 hours 59 minutes, so this visit requires more listening time than the farm's two earlier Christmas shorts.
