About this story

Murder at Martingale Manor gives Max and Leon a holiday in Devon in 1924. Leon hopes the break will help Max recover from her injuries, but the pleasant house and its guests soon become the setting for a murder investigation.

When the police arrive, Leon is the one guest without an unshakeable alibi.

The publisher openly frames the story through the country-house mystery tradition associated with Agatha Christie. In the site's view, that makes it especially inviting for readers who enjoy a confined group of suspects as well as St Mary's historical misadventures.

The holiday is supposed to offer recovery and rest; the murder makes the couple's position immediately personal.

This Christmas short follows the later St Mary's novels and sits after Raising the Dead in the site's order. Buy or borrow the separate ebook, or choose Zara Ramm's downloadable audiobook.

The individual recording runs for 2 hours 54 minutes, giving the mystery room to unfold within a single extended listening session.
